I went to Soul Survivor with Linda at the beginning of August. It was amazing. The picture above is of the main meeting from a pervious year. This year there were 10500 young people at week A and they were expecting the same amount for week B. Here is a bit of background from the Soul Survivor website:

Soul Survivor grew out of an Anglican church, St Andrew’s Chorleywood, that was equipping Christians to move in the power of the Holy Spirit through the ‘New Wine’ family conferences. It was clear from the growth in the youth work at New Wine that something separate was needed for young people so in 1993 Soul Survivor launched its first annual conference in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. This first event hosted just under 2,000 people and the number of delegates has grown every year since to an astonishing 22,789 in 2005. This now means there are a number of events held to be able to accommodate everybody; two events for people of secondary school age, one for students and twenty-somethings called Momentum and one for worship leaders called Passion for Your Name. In addition there are ‘Soul Sista’ one-day conferences to teach and encourage young women throughout the year, Soul Net retreats for youth leaders and other one-day conferences open to all. There are also seven international Soul Survivor centres across the world that share our vision and values and hold annual events for the young people of Australia, Canada, Holland, South Africa, Malaysia and the USA.
That all sounds nice and straightforward but as you can imagine there have been a number of adventures and many interesting moments along the way where we’ve stepped out in faith, scared ourselves stupid and then seen God do wonderful things!

The conference was amazing for me and I felt the Holy Spirit like I have never felt Him before. God really used me. I was helping at the Lift Cafe which is the cafe for the on site skate park. My job was to chat to the young people and allow God to speak into their lives through me. I had some really good coversations and some humorous experiences too. As you will see on the Soul Survivor website, they have projects going on in South Africa. I would love to get involved in these as the vision of Soul Survivor is amazing. If you are reading this and are in South Africa you should look into getting the youth of your church involved in some of the annual events that are taking place in South Africa.

I am running in the Nike 10K Run London race in October. I have really started to enjoy running now. This week I ran 5K twice and I am going for a quick 3K run today. The pictures are from previous run london races which I found on the internet. They aren't the best quality pictures unfortunately, but it gives you an idea of how big the race is. I ran 5K in 33 minutes on Wednesday. Okay it's not the fastest ever but for a beginner it is very cool. I am really proud of myself! I am starting to realise that it is way more difficult than I anticipated! I will be running four and a half times the race in October if I run the Marathon. That's hectic!!! I am going to try though.
